I’ve been a busy girl knitting lately. First off, a Monkey sock. If you remember, this yarn started off as a completely different pattern, but I was happy with it and decided to give Monkey a go.

I’m glad I did, because I love it. It fits perfectly and looks great. I really love how this yarn knits up. It doesn’t feel like the softest yarn ever, but it knits up so nicely and evenly without any snagging. The fabric is soft and even with crisp stitch definition and although I have yet to properly wear the socks (since I’ve only got one so far), it seems like it would wear very well. One more to go! It really should take too long, since the first one only took me two days.

However, I’ve also got several other projects clamouring for my attention. Most of my FOs so far are quite small quick projects and although I love them, I wanted a bit more of a challenge. I started this on Wednesday, from my beautiful Grignasco Silk/Merino and it’s turning out great so far.

Knitty fans will recognise this as Clessidra from the current issue. It’s the most intracate thing I’ve done so far, but totally worth it. The pattern and cables are actually really easy and once you’ve got a couple of repeats down, it’s easy to memorize, however it’s alot more time-consuming than the other socks and things I’ve made. I did realize today though that I’m doing one of the simplest bits wrong, for the seed stitch, instead of doing it k1 p1 as I’m supposed to, I managed to misread the pattern and do k2 p2. It still looks good though so I’m going to keep going with what I’ve got, it’s not worth ripping back and it’d look pretty strange if I suddenly switched. I wonder what this stitch pattern is called?

Last, but definately not least, I received an exciting package in the mail yesterday: several skeins of beautiful Malabrigo in a gorgeous green: Verde Adriana.

It’s going to become a cardigan. I can’t quite decide between Maude Louise and Mrs Darcy and I’m too scared to start in case it doesn’t turn out like I want it to. I have knitted up a swatch though and I can’t stop touching it.

I’ve also finished Fetching and am currently wearing them. I’m too lazy to take pictures though. James is enjoying his socks and is acting a little bit like a 6-year-old with a new toy. He won’t let me say bad things about them (like criticize my own knitting) and is convinced they won’t hold up to hard wear. He won’t wear them out in his shoes since they’re too precious, but will bring them over in his bag and wear them around the my house in the evenings. I’m just happy he appreciates them!

I’ve realized almost all my yarn is either in some shade of red or green. Maybe I need to expand a little, but they’re pretty much my favourite colours (although I’m a little careful about wearing them together since I don’t want to look like a christmas tree).
